VooDoo MLM Economics.

Many companies brag about their retention rate.  They try to give
the illusion of high retention rates to entice people to join in their
opportunity.  Some of these companies are publicly traded, when
they are they have to publicize their retention rate.  One in particular
had a retention rate of less then 10%.

So imagine if you built in this business, targeting your warm market
(people you already have a "know like and trust" relationship with)
for one year you do what your taught to do to build the business. 
Training, 3 way calls, opportunity meetings, names of your friends
and family, and you end up recruiting 100 people into your business.
But at the end of the next year.  You have less then 10 people left
building your residual income...and a whole bunch of other folks who
screen your calls and never seem to be home even though you can 
see movement through the curtains when you go to visit.

Breast Stroking across the English Channel.

Can you swim?  You can, great!

Can you swim across a small pond?  Maybe?!  OK!

How about that same small frozen pond in Maine, in January?
Really!?!  Why not?!

Okay, how about the English Channel in July then?

What do you mean "NO?"
I thought you said you could swim!!

Other people have done it.  What do you mean too hard, too far, you haven't
been trained.  Any excuse will do.

OK, OK...We will get you a coach a mentor, super good swimmer I saw him do 10 laps in 
the pool last week, we will get him to work with you all month THEN we will dump you in 
the channel.

My personal thoughts on GREED & EGO

Greed, the desire to accumulate money or possesions merely for the sake of having money or things.

Ego- Self, there is bad ego and there is good ego, most oftenly when we say Ego we are referring to the
self absorbed type of ego.

When most of us think of greed a picture of the fabled ebenezar scrooge (before his mystical christmas 
transformation) comes to our minds.  IN network marketing this is a very negative trait, when you think first
of how much money you make, then you think of yourself.  The people you sponsor into the business won't
develop a sense of loyalty and appreciation for you, nor you for them.  This reduces your retention and 
encourages people to bounce from company to company looking for the next best greatest thing instead of
sticking with you to build the true residual income.

Ego the way we normally think of ourself, who we are to other people is strongly based upon our self image. 
When we think highly of ourselves, we develop confidence in our abilites.  However some people let this jump
to the level of conceit, think Reggie Mantle from the Archie Comics.  This kind of attitude destroys the trust 
developed in yoru downline...Avoid it at ALL costs.

Oh, the questions I hear!

My good friend and personal mentor Michael Dlouhy has been working in network marketing
since 1978, he has talked to literally thousands of people in network marketing.  I wonder 
how many of these questions are familiar to you(feel free to leave a response to any or all the 
questions in the comments section of this post)  I have included my own personal answers though
I found mentoring for free rather early on in my network marketing experience, that makes me quite 
a lucky guy.

1) Why am I not smart enough to do this business?
I didn't have the skills.
2) Why am I successful in Corporate America but I fail here?
I was never in corporate america.
3) Why does the phone wiegh so much?
I have never felt comfortable talking to strangers over the phone.
4) Why do the No's hurt so bad?
Rejection is tough for everyone.
5) Am I to tall? Too Short?
I laughed at this one, I am the perfect height, and believe it or not so are YOU!
6) I worked so hard and still can't do it.  What is wrong with me?   My company?  The product?
None of these questions had any merit in my mind, but if they do in yours, we just may have the answer.
7) The heavy hitters tell me if it is to be it is up to me. Other people do this why can't I?
I hadn't learned the skills yet.
8) Why do these companies fail me?
I didn't realize how many companies I was in at the time, as a matter of fact, I didn't think I was in any...I was wrong.
9) Why did the fed's shut my company down?
This never happened to me personally, but I would think somebody did a big NO NO
10) I maxed out my credit card on advertising!  Why didn't it work?
I can relate here, why oh why didn't it work..advertisments don't build know, like and trust.
11) I went to the meetings, did the 3 way calls, why does't everyone see this?
To each their own, it just doesn't appeal to everyone.
12) Why don't they have the literature in Spanish? or French?
Because the founders wanted to save money.
13) Where is the teamwork?
I just got vague answers from my first up-lines.
14) Why isn't this fun?
When your work doesn't produce results it seems like a wasted effort.
15) Where are the facts and figures?  Where is the money?
On it's way, and in places you would never expect.

What this means to me in regards to building an MLM organization.  When you 
sign up with the so called "Heavy Hitter" it will feel like a fight all the time.  They will
be demanding more and better results from you, expecting you do your business the same
way that they do theirs.  Never mind that their way is not duplicatable by the business, nearly
impossible for the average network marketer.

Network Marketing Deviltry.

It is "NOT" your fault! Your lack of success in Multi Level Marketing is
not your fault.

Let that sink in for a moment....


Feel better?  Still think it is?  We can prove it is not.

Let us discuss this for a minute...
You sign up, you work your butt off.  No results.  So naturally we go to the person
that signed us up for answers.  Please Mrs. Sponsor, tell me what to do and say to 
get people interested in coming to the opportunity meetings...."Be yourself, improve your 
attitude, work harder, go get 100 "No's"(if 3 no's hurt, why would you want 97 more?) Just 
talk to them what should I say?  I don't know just talk..."

Do you see where I am coming from if you do all that you are told to do, how could your lack of
success possibly be your fault.

You heard me talk last time about how the profit center of too
many network marketing companies was not their products.
Would it shock you to find out it was their distributor kits and
promotional material??

Bad Blood in big companies, all the companies that fail, failed
for basically the same reason.  The owners got GREEDY.  Full 
of themselves and short sighted - Yes, GREED and bad EGO.

Other companies did it right.  They had sponsoring systems in 
place.  They sold promotional material for a reasonable price.

Chapter 12 - The Subconscious Mind


The subconscious mind sorts and stores all that the "brain" receives.

You can feed any information you desire, information backed by emotion(whether positive or negative)
gets prioritized in your subconscious mind.  The things you tell yourself with feeling happen fastest.  The
subconscious mind NEVER rests.  It is the "receiving station" the 2 way radio connecting you to the 
universe.  You can direct your subconscious mind through habit, if you get up each day at 5:45 in the morning
soon your subsconscious mind will wake you up each day at that time, regardless of your use of an alarm clock.
This works for any other thing you may desire as well.  You want better relationships, make a habit of doing
little things that improve your relationships - tell your self how you want to be as though you are already that person.

Money works the same way.

When you mix your thoughts with emotion they become far more powerful - if you use positive emotions such as DESIRE, 
FAITH, LOVE, SEX, ENTHUSIASM, ROMANCE, and HOPE, it will lead you to PROSPERITY.  However, when mixed with 
the negative emotions of fear, jealousy, hatred, revenge, greed, superstition, or anger, it will lead you to lack.  When you sense 
a negative emotion forming in your heart, take a moment to replace it with a positive one,  BE HABITUALLY POSITIVE TO BECOME 
PROSPEROUS.
